Homas are one of the many invaluable contributions made by the Rishis to the Santhana Dharma. Rigveda begins with a prayer to the Agni deva who is the embodiment of Paramatma. Rishis of ancient Bharath realized the importance of Agni (Light) in the creation of Universe, thousands of years ago. They realized that, at the time of creation of the Universe, Agni (Light Energy) caused the formation of Paramanus (Atoms) from Akasha thattva and combination of Paramanus for the creation of Stars and celestial bodies. They knew that Agni is responsible for the existence of the entire Universe. Rishis realized that at the end, this Universe with all its creations dissolves in Agni.

As part of the Mouna Yoga sadhana, Swamiji conducts Homas during Pournami and Amavasi evenings in each month for the well being of the world and its entire creations. The Agni in the Homa Kunda represents the Cosmic Fire. In the Homa accompanied by Brahma Gayathri Manthra recitation, all such energy factors and tattvas existing in Microcosm and Macrocosm, which obstructs the physical, mental wellbeing and spiritual progress of the sadhaka as well as wellbeing of the Universe, are dissolved.

The restructuring and re organization happening in the energy system during the Homa, causes internal and external cleansing of the sadhaka and all living beings in and around, and in the entire world. This in turn, results in Healing, Everlasting peace and Ananda- the Eternal Happiness, of the entire world.
